With over 13 years of experience playing bass and over 10 years specializing in both jazz acoustic and electric bass, Michael has taught many different skill levels jazz bass playing.

Having played in school, youth, and conservatory orchestras for over 13 years Michael began playing bass at a young age, and has continued to refine and share his musical knowledge with others.

Having played in the jazz world for over 10 years Michael takes a unique and modern approach to jazz improvisation. Borrowing techniques from many jazz eras, Michael focuses on taking inspiration from many different jazz musicians while still maintaining an individual style and sound.

(Michael primarily plays bass, but lessons can be with students that play any rhythm section instrument.)

With a background in composition, Michael has studied various forms of music theory including basic theory, traditional theory, modern music theory, and jazz theory. Michael has taught both beginning and advanced students interested in music theory.
